Today i should start with warning you about a looong posting, but that's just because I've used so looong time making this card :) It's a triple congratulation card for the last three days, actually:
Yesterday a friend of mine turned 46. I can't say who, but congratulations!
The day before I found a new challenge blog as I visited Dawn; Raspberry Ribbons Kits and Sketches. Congratulations!
They opened their blog at Saturday with a great sketch, as I've used for this card. Their one condition is that you use ribbon on your cards or layouts!
At Friday Gunhild at Stempelglede opened her Design Team blog, introducing a really talented trio of ladies in the team; Anita, Kirsten and Camilla. Congratulations to all of you! Gunhild is celebrating the new blog with offering some blog candy! How would you like to win the Grunge Collection cling cushioned stamp set? Go visit her, and give it a try!
I've used three of the stamps from this collcetion at the front; the medium and large flower for the retro punches and one of the "swirl laces" at the background behind the HS image. I'll show you the details a little by little :)
Jadda :/
Before I stamped this image, I removed most of the black ink from the dots at the jacket with a Q-tip, because I wanted them to be green (peeled paint). All the clothes are painted with Distress Ink, a mix of 'broken china' and 'peeled paint'. Then she's cut out and decorated; small silver pearls at the shoes and a pearl flower in the collar.
The large flower is decorated with a Bazzill brad, and the medium flowers with silver rondells. The pink flowers have a white pearl flower at the top, and I used rhinestones for the blue ones. I also used some small flowers, decorated with pearl flowers.
The image is placed at a smaller card, and at the inside I've written some funny words and a birthday greeting. The lovely "lace swirl" stamp is the same as I used behind the image. I've placed a tiny pink ribbon at the back - again *haha*
At the left inside of the card I've listed some advantages by passing 45 years old, some humour for women :)
I think I have a kind of obsession with this kind of folding 15x15 cm cards at the time, making a 0,5 cm fold in the back, which is so nice to put a ribbon on ;) At this one I've also thread a couple of charms :)
The ribbons at the front continues to the back, and voila! The back of the card is finished :) I also added three flowers here, that turned a little too green to be used at the front.
Klokka tjuenullnull :)
Finally I'll just remind you of my blog candy, where you can win the pearl flowers as I've used at this card, and the smallest retro flower punch as well! You can start as a gardener if you win *haha* I will draw the winners at 8 pm, so there's still time for you to find some of your favourite poems or phrases!
