Thank you for being there ~ Whimsy DT card

God morgen! Her har det vært kort- og bloggetørke en stund, men nå stikker jeg i hvert fall innom med et kort med den nye Whimsy-sjiraffen! Kul typ?! Dette kortet hadde verken mål eller mening da jeg begynte å fargelegge den langhalsede, men blikket gjorde at det ble som det ble :)

Good morning! After some time off from cards, papers and blogs I've finally managed to create something... Here's a DT card I've made with the new Whimsy giraffe! Isn't he (or is it her?) cool?! I had no plans with this card as I started painting, but the thoughtful look in his eyes made it a thank you card :)

Here's what I did to create this image:

I started with stamping, painting and masking the giraffe (he's painted with Distress Ink 'tea dye' and 'walnut stain'). Then I sponged the aqua paper with Distress Ink 'broken china'. To create the background tree I used a Tattered Angels stencil (from the Blossom Glimmer Screens). I sprayed Glimmer Mist 'walnut gold' at the stencil and "stamped" the tree. You can find this and many other tips at the Tattered Angels web site :) Finally I stamped some grass and flowers using a SU stamp and three different colours of green Fluid Chalk.

To mirror reverse the the giraffe head I stamped it on a left over piece of rubber before stamping it on aqua paper. It didn't get perfect, but at this little image I just drawed the lines with a filt pen after colouring :)

I used a paper knife to make slices for the ric rac, so it could run behind the legs ;)

The sentiment is a ticket from Melissa Frances ticket book.

Sukkersött # 43 - en skisseutfordring

Litt forsinket - men på Sukkersött har vi en skisseutfordring denne uka, og her er kortet mitt. Det er et bursdagskort til ei apekatt i Tønsberg, som fyller fem år i morra :) Helt nytt stempel fra WS fikk jeg brukt også!

A little late - but we have a sketch challenge at Sukkersött this week, and I used the occation to make a birthday card for a little monkey boy, who turns five tomorrow :) 

This is also my first car with this new monkey from Whimsy Stamps! Isn't he cuuute?

Det er ettårsbursdagfest så det holder på 2 Sketches 4 You! Reneste cupstemninga, med en premie man bare kan sikle drømmende etter... det er verdt et forsøk! (sa hun optimistisk...)

Laura and Kazan are celebrating 2 Sketches 4 You's 1st Anniversary in a fabulous way! The prize is overwhelming, I just had to give it a try... Laura has made a gorgeous sketch for participating the first week - and here's my card.

This chipboard heart is a part of an album from Kort&Godt. I painted it with a mahogany red acrylic painting, then I mixed some of this painting with Distress Crackle Paint 'Tattered Rose' and added it with a cloth. Finally I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist 'Walnut Gold'.

Thought I shouldn't be such a chatterbox today ;) just let the pictures talk...


For this card I've used: 

• Cardstock: Bazill Dotted Swiss (white)
  
• DP and tag: Graphic 45 "Baby & Bride Collection"
• Sentiment stamp (says happy birthday btw), lace, mulberry roses and gardenia flowers from Papirloftet. All the flowers are sprayed with Glimmer Mist 'Old Lace'. 
• QuicKutz butterfly
• Corner stamps from Stempelglede's Grunge collection

50-årskort til StampARTic sin juniskisse

God kveld i stugu! Etter en sommervarm pinse er hverdagen og vinteren tilbake her, fyttify så surt og kaldt det har vært i dag! Men surt og kaldt vær gjør at man kan sitte inne og kose seg, og jeg har laget et 50-årskort til senere i sommer (ute i god tid, faktisk) ved hjelp av den flotte skissa som Marianne har laget til StampARTic sin juni-utfordring! 

Marianne has made a fabulous sketch for the June challenge at StampARTic! I've used it to make a card for a 50 years anniversary coming up this summer (can't belive I've made it already *haha*) The entire card is made of Graphic 45's "Baby & Bride Collection" - I just LOVE these papers, they are so beautiful I find it hard to cut them :) The text is hand written and says "A little bird told me..."

Denne nydelige sommerfuglen som jeg har fått av snille, gode Marte, er hul inni "kroppen", så den er knytt fast med lintråd. Den er svampet med brun StazOn.

This beautiful silver butterfly brad, which is a present from my sweet friend Marte, is tied on the card with linen thread, because the "body" is hollow. It's sponged with brown StazOn.

Jeg har fullstendig dilla på Glimmer Mist for tida, og sprayer det på alt jeg kommer over *fnis* Her har jeg dusjet litt Old Lace rundt kanten, så fikk den Distress Ink- malede Gorjussjenta skimrende hår samtidig :)

I'm really hooked on Glimmer Mist at the moment, here I've used "Old Lace" at the edges. Then the Distress Ink painted Gorjuss girl got some shimmer in her hair as well :)

I've used the same colour at the edges around the card, and on the crackle painted swirl. The Prima roses were too blue, so they were sprayed with some green "Garden Fairy" glimmer...

The inside looks like this...

... and the text from the front continues on a tag (still Graphic 45). The numbers are chipboards, painted with Crackle Paint "Tattered Rose", sprayed with Glimmer Mist "Old Lace" (I told you I was hooked) and finally I added Glossy Accents.
Sånn. Dette kortet er laget med høy inspirasjonsfaktor fra det kortet Jorunn laget til skissa, og det bringer over på neste tema; nemlig den helt nye bloggen "Sukkersøte kreasjoner"! Der skal vi jentene i Sukkersött sitt Design Team legge ut godsaker vi kommer over i bloggeland - og de trenger nødvendigvis ikke ha noe med de sukkersøte utfordringene å gjøre!
